Hope After Child Loss/The Empty Chair Endeavor
An outreach of The Empty Chair Endeavor designed to support and equip survivors of child loss in rediscovering life, hope, and joy after unspeakable tragedy. Additionally, our mission involves educating the public about the life altering impact the death of a child has upon survivors, both parents and siblings, and equipping them to better support and minister to them. Join us as guests share their stories of heartbreaking loss and how God has shown up on their journeys to restore hope, meaning and purpose. The host, Greg Buffkin, lives with his wife Cathy in South Carolina. Because Cathy and Greg lost their beautiful son Ryan to suicide in 2015, they understand the trauma and pain of losing a child. On a journey that began 9 years ago out of unspeakable trauma and brokenness, GOD has brought them through to a place of restoration, hope and joy with a passion to help fellow survivors on their journeys.

I am blessed to say I am Deanaโs (favorite) ๐ฅฐsister. I am so proud of her today! Thank you for this so much! This was so healing for her and she needed to do this! I love her dearly and this journey has been incredibly hard and again I could not be prouder of her!
my heart goes out to Deana and Robbie as I know them personally. One of my best friends was Robbieโs mom and was always around Deana and Robbie when they were still in High School.Deana and Robbie have been amazingly strong throughout their journey and I see their strength love and faith in God. Love them both ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
Started listening through the podcast.. but as always, so very helpful! So true, the first year I couldnโt even think.. the second Iโm beginning to see life outside of my grief. Trying to see Gods plan each day. Praying for Him to reveal His plan for me, but also trying to find joy. Iโve been missing joy.. pray for Him to feel me with the joy of the Spirit every morning. Love to sing that song at church. Thankyou again.
thankyou so much for sharing your story again. I found in my journal I found you on April 8 th, 23 after losing Travis. Thanking God for this.
Greg, as a survivor of childhood abuse from a step grandfather.. I would love to share my perspective either way you one day.. it was very bothersome to me when your guest said 'forgive Ryan for not telling you' Children don't tell. Even as adults we feel shame. I almost died from my shame. It is a subconscious that takes over. I would love to share more. But that's very triggering to hear her say 'forgive him' for not telling you. ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ by the grace of God I'm alive, I almost died before I could admit my abuse to my parents or even myself.
Deana was awesome! This will definitely reach a lot of people that have experienced this also well. Congrats on your strength to be able to do this and talk about Travis.โค๏ธ
